Excellent podcast!

It’s not that I'm anti-podcast; it's just that I almost never listen to them. Still, when I came across the 9/2/21 episode of the Top 10 Time Machine, I thought I'd give it a five-minute whirl. I have especially fond musical memories from 1984 and was curious to see what songs would come up. Plus, I know Dave and admire his MC skills and pop culture prowess.

I thought Dave and Milt were terrific. To my own surprise, I listed to the nearly 2 hour episode straight through. Dave and Milt opined impressively about the songs’ quality, backstories and their place in musical/pop culture then and now. But even better, they talked about the feeling or vibe (good or bad) the songs evoked - that's a hard thing to capture, and especially glorious when it resonates.

Here's the best thing. As a heard Missing You, Lets Go Crazy, She Bop, the Warrior and the rest, and listened to Dave and Milt’s banter about them, I started remembering my 14 year old self when these songs were part of my summer of 1984 soundtrack; where I was, what I was doing, who I was with, and especially how those songs made me feel at the time. What at trip!
